About six weeks before the war with Iraq began, I had a dream about our soldiers fighting and being killed and injured. As I awoke from the dream, I began to pray for the soldiers and drifted off to sleep, believing God would keep this horrible scenario from happening through the prayers of His people. I believe He did that, and many lives were saved early on because of His intervention. The next day, I envisioned a military bandana with Psalm 91 printed on it, and I remembered the stories I'd heard of WWI and WWII soldiers' lives being saved as a result of praying this powerful Psalm. I felt God was giving me the idea to get it done and out to the troops.

Using money from my income tax refund, I began buying them and having them screen-printed.  Through a series of divine connections, I was able to give away approximately 3000 to deploying troops at Fort Hood, Texas back in March and April through Chaplain Jim Combs and his office. The bandanas were well received by the men and women as they traveled to Iraq and other destinations. My goal is to get one to every service man or woman who wants one. I am still receiving many requests for the bandanas - especially from deploying troops and their families, and I am continuing to raise money to pay for some to be shipped overseas or given to the men and women as they deploy. This is a project I will continue to carry out until they all come home.
